did an excellent job. at times it seemed like ryan was debating two people, the moderator and that joe biden. ryan still kept his cool and did a great job. biden is the reincarnation of harold stasstzen. his incessant interrupting, smirks, giggles and laughing at ryan, he was trying to sucker right into losing his temper, but ryan did not fall for that. an embarrassing display of buffoonery. i am interested to see what mr. obama's supporters will say today, their tone. i think they will be running scared. host: this morning we are using span2012 if you would like to make a comment on twitter about last night's debate. from "the huffington post" -- next call comes from canada in philadelphia on our support president obama line. caller: how are you? host: good. turn down your tv and go ahead. i will put you on hold and we will come back to you. we will go to jerry in missouri on our support mitt romney line. caller: how are you? host: good. caller: i would like to voice my concerns for the seniors we know who are losing their health care because of obamacare. my father is a korean vetera

i think the vice presidential debate is going to be important because joe biden basically debated sarah palin to a draw. if they haven't we'd still be talking about sarah palin's poor debate performance. she was great. this is important because the democratic party has done great through clinton and obama, their last two presidents, of talking about theryan is going to be the one to save entitlements into the future. it's going to be fascinating. republicans are not accustomed to having the 42-year-old talking about generational change in politics. >> we're out of time. we'll see everybody tomorrow morning. cnn newsroom with carol costello starts now. >> immoral, illegal and making the united states hate it around the world. a group of american activists are spreading that around in pakistan. live from islamabad. >>> a new government report shows two companies that employ thousands of americans may actually pose a security concern for the united states. >>> nascar drivers are questioning their safety after a 20 car pile-up at one of nascar's most famous tracks. why one driver call

of foreign policy experience, what he did to shore that up was to bring in joe biden as his vp candidate. what did mitt romney do? he brought in paul ryan who has even less, if you could imagine that, foreign policy experience except maybe perhaps voting against tougher sanctions on iran while he was in congress. as far as that argument's concerned, i think it's rather debunked. i want to read to you very quickly a quote from mitt romney from that video with the 47%. this is his -- this is his foreign policy in a nutshell. so what do you do -- this is about peace in the middle east. you say you move things along the best way you can. you hope for some degree of stability. but you recognize this is an unsolved problem and we kick the ball down the field and hope ultimately somehow something will happen and resolve it. that's what mitt romney said on foreign policy behind closed doors. whatever he says today in a couple of hours, you got to juxtapose that to that quote in the video when he thought no one else was listening. >> john, one of mitt romney's problems is the only specifics he's

in this fight. >> reporter: now, republicans believe it will be a target rich environment to go going in for joe biden. clooney will be and katy perry will be, stevie wonder and all kinds of hollywood a-list with the eyes turning to the vice presidential debate. a lost questions whether that will really have an impact. you have seen some of those big vp debates that really didn't have a big effect in the end on the actual race. >> gregg: ed henry on the stacy keyboard her watch. >> reporter: good to see you. >> gregg: we don't care about george. we are looking for stacy. >> heather: vice presidential candidates getting their one and only chance in their own debate. will the vp debate carry more weight than in years past? thank you both for joining us. >> thanks so much. >> i'm going to ask you both, ron i'll begin with you, what are your expectations for this debate coming up on thursday? >> i think this debate can only help the romney campaign and only hurt the obama campaign. last debate between romney and obama, romney cleaned obama's clock. you can tell who won by the poll numbers. having ry
